Sarah Stinson

Sarah began bellydancing at age 17, studying with Katarina Burda (director of AYWAH!) for 2 years. She found Hot Pot Studios in college, and after studying with Amy Sigil for 2 years became the Team Captain of Verbatim for 2.5 years. She has been a member of UNMATA for the past 8.5 years.

UNMATA, directed by Amy Sigil, performs at major festivals and events across the country and around the globe. In addition to assisting Amy Sigil’s workshops, Sarah teaches at international festivals including Tribal Umrah (2013, 2014), and also teaches regular weekly classes at Hot Pot Studios.

In 2012 she created the Sigil Ink book project, a visual and written account of the international tattoo art inspired by UNMATA/Amy Sigil. In 2013 she authored the Level 1-2 ITS Manual (with editing assistance from Amy Sigil and Kari VanderZwaag).

When she isn’t studying for Grad School, Sarah can be found teaching Bellydance Fusion, following Amy’s Work, Craft, Drill class format, and Level 3 ITS at Hot Pot Studios. She can’t imagine how she got so damned lucky.
