Ojai Bellydance Festival is pleased to present Amy Sigil, internationally acclaimed master teacher and director of UNMATA, for a mini-intensive on Improvisational Tribal Style dance (ITS). Building on the work of dance pioneers Carolene Nericcio & FCBD, ITS fuses elements of Hip-hop, Jazz, Street dance, and Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Improv is the heart of both bellydance and street dance. Spending retreat time in paradise is not only an opportunity for you to relax while getting to my guest stars up close and personal, but for me as well. It is with pleasure she brings you two of her favorite belly dance experts. Amy Sigil teaching her very special brand of UNMATA belly dance fusion and Dahlia Moon teaching modern Egyptian and folkloric. Delilah will be there too, delivering her ever-popular Power Belly course with live music by Erik Brown and to cool us down some creative performance exercises. And we get some Hula too!

Elevation is a Tribal Belly Dance Event which is held in Golden Colorado, at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We have been bringing our favorite dancers and drummers here to share their artform since 2003. Our goal is to help the Tribal Belly Dance artform grow and thrive by connecting the local, national, and international community together. The workshops are open for everyone to attend. While most classes assume that the student has some belly dance experience, all levels are welcome and encouraged. The shows are a magnificent experience for dancers and especially for the general public. You will be glad to experience shows like these. We believe in holding our shows at a local club to help encourage the audience to have a party! This is not your typical theater stage performance! The 2010 Kosmos Camp is fast approaching! Once again, Kosmos will run 5-days/4-nights for more dance, more music, more shows, more yoga, more jam sessions, and more relaxing in general! With seven hours of classes Thursday through Saturday, plus an additional 4 hours on Sunday, you’ll get a staggering 25 hours of top-flight instruction! The shows, food, lodging, and extras are all included! This year's teaching staff adds some big names, with Shoshana, Joti Singh, Carlos Caro, Alfredo Caceres, Dudley Flores, Azriel Goldschmidt, Jordan Wilson, and Shelly of UNMATA!
